Peter's Monthly Mysteries


December

Peter climbed the tree that he was going to use for Christmas. He put the star on the tree. "Ryan," Peter said, "you have to go home now!!" As Peter climbed down his Christmas tree, Ryan walked out the door. Peter put his present under the tree. 

As Peter walked up the stairs, he noticed his brother opening his presents, so he ran upstairs as fast as he could. He could remember tomorrow was Christmas. 

"Peter, wake up!" Ryan said. Peter opened his presents (coal was in them all). How could this have happened?

January

It was a day before New Year's Eve. "Ring ring," the telephone went. Peter was on the phone. "I want you to come to my New Year's party," said Peter. Ryan ran to his mom.

"Mom, Peter has a huge New Year's party and he invited me, so please can I go?" Ryan said.

Ryan's mom got there in a flash. It was 11:00, one hour till New Year. Peter asked if he could have a drink. He drank his root beer in a flash. 

They turned on the TV. It was 12:00. Nothing came on about New Year. How could this have happened?

February

Mary and Sarah both like Peter, but only Mary sent letters. Mary always put her name on them.

"Peter," Ryan said, "it's Valentine's Day." As the bus drove along, Peter thought about how much candy he was going to get. 
Once he got to school, Peter stopped eating his Valentine's candy. Ryan ate through the whole bag.

Peter saw a message that said from a secret. Who wrote this letter?

"April Fools," yelled Peter as Ryan came in the door.

"I'm soaked!" yelled Ryan. "Want to see me make a movie pop out of nowhere?" A movie appeared in Ryan's pocket.

"It's just a camera," mumbled Peter.

"Hey," said Ryan, "let's fool your brother. I just need yarn." All the yarn was gone. 

Just then, Peter and Ryan were being lifted in the air. Peter's brother walked into the house. Peter's brother laughed. "You are being lifted by yarn." Peter's brother took a knife and cut the yarn. Who lifted Peter and Ryan into the air?

Answers

December: Peter's brothers hid their presents in the closet. He filled up fake ones with coal.

January: It was not really New Year. It was New Year's Eve.

February: Sarah wrote this letter. Mary would never send a letter that said a secret.

April: Matt did. They were in Matt's house. Peter was just going to ask Matt's brother if he'd like to go see a movie with Ryan and Peter. Peter was going to fool him.
